flyer-724x1024.jpg

Our good friends from beyond Hadrian's Wall, Edinburgh's marvellous Forest Publications, are embarking on a Europe-wide tour of their poetry, prose and songsmithing. The Golden Hour passes through London tonight, appearing at The Camden Head for an evening's varied entertainment.

Entry a meagre £3, including a free copy of their Stolen Stories book.

Collective sigh

So, the 2008 Edinburgh micro-festival is over, and echoes of megaphones, filmreels, synthesizers and lasers are beginning to fade to dreamlike memories. We'll be collating a gallery of the greatest photos very soon - though it'll be hard to choose from the endless array of unforgettable scenes, from Emily and Rachel's conjoined appearance as the Twins to Alice Saint's embodiment of all that is glamour, from Tom's glitter-soaked performance in his Edith Massey dress to the red-carpet champagne premiere of Garry's Karaoke - not forgetting the brain-melding immersion of 7VWWVW's smoke, lights and analogue synthesis.

We extend all our gratitude to all who came and made it the magic that it was - the puppeteers, violinists, filmmakers, performers, artists, rockstars, ravers, friends, collaborators, freeloaders and weirdos. Until next time...

What They Could Do at Escape #3: Plugged

bzzzzz. Get your jumpleads at the ready, for we're just finishing preparation for this weekend's installment of the monthly Escape series, featuring an array of electrical delights. Thursday night, 8pm onwards, Escape.

We're also starting plotting for the August edition, taking place earlier than usual on the 14th as we're then off to Edinburgh for our annual 4-day extravaganza at the Forest Café. We're planning Escape #4 as an informal festival-preview-cum-open-mic night, so let us know if you'd like to be involved in some way.
